ABOUT

Nuorah is a singer, songwriter, producer, and performer creating indie pop centered around captivating lyricism, layered vocals, and detailed instrumentals. Every lyric, every inflection, every breath is carefully considered. Each creative choice tells a bit of her story.

Nuorah grew up with two cultures in her home. Her father was born and raised in Kabul, Afghanistan, while her mother was born and raised in the Mormon church in Salt Lake City, Utah. The coming together of these two cultures was highly unlikely and uncommon. Nuorah’s childhood was beautiful, yet complicated.

That duality continues to shape Nuorah’s music, which explores identity, belonging, self perception, and the process of figuring out who she wants to become. Her songs grapple with feeling at war within herself, questioning the ideals she grew up with, and trying to understand her relationship to her heritage. In giving shape to these questions, Nuorah creates music that is deeply personal while leaving room for listeners to find pieces of themselves within it.

“My music exists in the tension between vulnerability and self awareness. My songs will often explore deeply personal experiences, but they still maintain perspective. Even at their most vulnerable, there’s an awareness of the contradictions, and patterns, and emotions being explored,” says Nuorah. Intentionality carries through the music itself, where lyrics, vocals, and production work together to create something that feels both intimate and deliberate.

Nuorah’s music is ultimately an invitation to sit with the questions that do not always have easy answers. Aren’t we all constantly trying to figure out exactly who we’re meant to be?
